Our Mission
Every veteran has a story.
Our mission is to preserve the amazing stories of our veterans from Thomasville and Thomas County and the American history each of them helped shape.
Preserve History & Educate the Next Generation
Your support for the new Thomas County Veterans Museum, helps:
Bring Stories to Life
Beginning with our earliest settlers who served in the Revolutionary War all the way to our soldiers serving in the War on Terrorism, the history associated with our local men and woman of service is remarkable. We will bring their stories to life.
Protect Cemeteries
The establishment of the veterans museum will help support the ongoing historic preservation efforts of the Old Cemetery and the Flipper Cemetery that is under the oversight of the City of Thomasville.
Present Artifacts
The new museum will feature many historic artifacts from American History, both from local veterans and national military artifacts including: Swords, firearms, and accouterments from every American conflict, including the Revolutionary and Civil Wars. Uniforms and items associated with local veterans throughout the history of Thomasville and the surrounding area.
WE OWE OUR VETERANS A DEBT WE CAN NEVER REPAY.
Location
With the renovation of the old American Legion Post 31 building on Madison Street, the new Veterans Museum will be located between the Old Cemetery and the Flipper Cemetery.

"Who has done more for the cause of freedom than American veterans?
"We live in the land of the free and the home of the brave due to the sacrifices made by generations of American veterans from almost every family that calls our nation home. Here in Thomasville/Thomas County, a new facility that will give each of our military veterans the opportunity to share their personal stories of heroism and sacrifice is now becoming reality.
"The Thomasville/Thomas County Veterans Museum has made great strides in 2022, and will break ground in 2023.
"We need your help. As you consider your year-end charitable giving, please consider making your contribution to our efforts to perpetuate the stories of our veterans locally. All contributions are fully tax deductible, as the museum is an IRS recognized 501c(3) non-profit organization.
"Make your tax-deductible contribution to the Thomasville/Thomas County Veterans Museum before December 31st!
"Remember them. Learn from them. Honor them."
